I always slept on my back with my arms at my side or with my hands resting on my lower abdomen.
I often sleep on the floor and i always liked firm mattress but some people like soft mattresses.
For some reason the nights i slept on floors in college whether i was crashing in someone s dorm or too drunk were some of the best nights of sleep i ve ever had and i don t know why.

My advice is that if you sleep on the floor you should try a thicker pillow.
If you have difficulty sitting on the floor or getting back up sleep on a bed instead.
