Standard height for the shower valve the handle that turns the shower on can be roughly waist high 36 inches above the shower floor or as high as 48 inches. There are far to many variables. I figure once i installed the shower pan and the sloped tiled floor it would be 26 above my feet. Check toilet to confirm location water supply connection. If valve is over a shower tray in a cubicle then around 1m from top of shower tray. Employ your helper to hold the fixture at an estimated height and then see if it s a comfortable reach for all users. For shower stalls install the valve at the standard height of 48 inches or 4 feet. A height of 28 inches or 2 feet 4 inches is standard for valves in bathtub shower units.

Place the controls so that all users can easily access them. If your shower is also a bathtub ensure that the valve is low enough for bathers to use it but you can place it around 45 inches from the ground if the shower does not include a bathtub. I find if you have a shower valve fitted over the bath then 1300mm off the floor is a good height. Shower controls should be placed at a height 40 50 102 127 cm above the shower floor and out of direct line of the water path to avoid being caught in extremely cold or hot water when operating.

However people who are particularly tall may want to consider installing their basins a little higher to take the pressure off their backs when it comes to bending over the sink every morning. The one i have at home is at 48 above. Measured from centerline running vertically through the center of the toilet supply line hole should be 6 inches to the side of centerline. Cold water only pipe creates one hole between 5 and 10 inches above the floor supply line horizontal.

I put my valve 25 inches off the floor if i remember right for a tub and just wing the tubspout to whatever i think looks good.
